As you learned here, the script is your bible. And that's what book four will be all about. How to be inspired and nourished by the text and how to investigate it in personal and creative ways. I will teach you how to ask the vital questions of interpretation so that your unique voice comes shining through as you bring to life that elusive thing we call "the character."

We will cover in depth things like:

o personalizing the text,
o text journal work,
o breaking down the script,
o making active choices,
o "doings,"
o "as-ifs," and
o other key elements of interpretation.

 

You will learn how to really "know" what you are talking about on stage and how to bring yourself in personal allignment with the character's own very specific point of view.

And this one is worth saying again - you will learn how to become authentically and passionately active as you begin to fully understand that on stage, every word out of your mouth is an "activity" because every word that comes out of your mouth is necessary and is a result of something essential you are trying to accomplish in each moment!

You know, everything we have done together in the first three books has been the groundwork for what we will work on together in book four. This next part is the huge piece of acting most actors don't want to deal with because it is painstaking work. But I'll tell ya, it is the most rewarding and satisfying part. It is the part that really makes sense of everything else we have so rigorously grappled with. It is the part that allows your instincts to soar and puts you into the domain of "artist."
